2019-2020 Candidate Statements:
ANDREA TORRES
Hi, my name is Andrea Torres and I am interested in running for an FCCLA OFFICER position because I feel like this would be a great opportunity for me to learn a lot and experience a lot because I’m a Freshman and I’m very interested in the club. I’m specifically interested in the SCHS Chapter Reporter because I just joined journalism and honestly feel like I would be good at the position (and try my best :0) to gain experience in reporting and to be able to tell others what should be heard. I just joined FCCLA so i don’t exactly know ideas I have for this year because it’s unclear to me what type of ideas are to be expected, hopefully once I know I’ll be able to come up with some. I personally think that I am a good writer and pretty imaginative. I’m also a person with all ears. I myself am new but if it were to be next year and there is a new member sitting by themselves, I’d sit next to them and have a small conversation with them because that’s what I’d want if I were alone. My top 3 priorities is to try my ultimate best at being an officer,be supportive and help at my best, and lastly to be winners at everything and anything we do. I haven’t been in FCCLA before so I wouldn't really know what to improve on for our chapter.
LINDSEY CROCKER
Hi, my name is Lindsey Crocker and I would like to be elected as the historian. I am qualified for this position due to my expert camera skills and decent editing skills. I would love to be an officer to learn more about FCCLA and help organize meetings and competitions. This is my first year in FCCLA so I’m not sure what I would change or how to improve our Chapter, but I’m a quick learner so I could catch on really fast and come up with improvements from what I’m told. I am new this year, so to welcome new people I would go say hi and get to know them to become friends! My 3 top qualities would be my organizational skills, my leadership skills, and my supportive personality.
KYLA TADINA

I’m experienced with video editing as I can use adobe premiere pro to edit and I’m confident with my artistic abilities. I could talk with new members and include everyone into the conversation to make them feel welcome and included. My top priorities for this year would be to reach out and meet new people, create new memories, and help out my community. ETHAN LAYNE
I want to be an officer because I wanted to do something for the community. This is one of my first opportunities to impact the community as a whole. I want to have a challenge, and to make region 5 as a whole, better than it is already, and want to help our community. My ideas are to help budget our projects that we will do this year, join various activities this year, and be able to come at certain meetings and help our community via, doing community work, help cook for homeless shelters. I am mostly just an average student no doubt about it. I have a very strong passion for cooking, try to ace my classes. I am very friendly once I get to know you. I can be quite shy if I don’t know you, but I will try to be as communicated as I can be. I will take time off of my lunches, after school, before school and weekends. I will meet new people and make them feel welcome by having a very friendly attitude. If a person does not want to join, it’s very hard to change their minds. But you can influence the people who want to join by having very optimistic people and to always have a positive attitude. Just being friendly to someone can impact their lives in many ways. My top three priorities for this chapter is to benefit the community, raise fundraisers and charitable events, And to be doing something that can help our ecosystem such as beach cleanups and park cleanups. FCCLA is basically a strategy. It is extremely helpful, but it can only be refined. FCCLA has that. It is very beneficial to the community, and how we can do better every year. Refining your goals like, Having organized events that can help the community, but also to have members join, so we can improve what we do. The more people we have, the more ideas that can be turned into reality.

I want to be an officer so I can finally have a chance to contribute to an organization. I am open to listen to new ideas and I am willing to communicate with other members about events, plans, competitions, etc. For new members, I would approach them and try to start a small conversation to get to know them, so they can know that there is always someone that they can talk to when they’re in FCCLA. It’s always good to know that there is someone to talk to when you’re getting into something new. My top 3 priorities for our Chapter is to meet new people, to explore new career options, and to contribute to my community.
