hash browns - some restaurants that offer them as a specialty:
Hashbrowns Cafe                        Bill's Cafe                   Hobee's                     Waffle House

streusel - a crumbly mixture of fat, sugar and flour (and sometimes nuts and spices) used as a topping or filling for cake


quiche - a French open-faced savory pie consisting of an egg custard base combined with other savory ingredients


Cafe Du Monde - a  coffee stand in New Orleans specializing in french, sugar coated donuts called Beignets (benyays).  Watch the Travel Channel video


Mis en place - translated from French, “everything in it’s place”.  A cooking practice where ingredients are pre-measured & prepped, then placed in small bowls in order to make the cooking process more efficient.


Hollandaise Sauce - a sauce made with egg yolk and butter, seasoned with lemon juice.
